Step 7 : Techniques to accentuate those beautiful eyes:

YOUR STEP BY STEP GUIDE TO A GLAMOROUS U

Most eye shadow palettes are created with 3 shades, a highlighter, a mid tone & a deeper colour that work well together.  All colours can be used for both day & night, but it’s a safer option to go with the natural or light colours for day.

Star Tip : The difference between a top brand such as Mac/Estee Lauder/Bobby Brown & a cheap brand is that the top brands are designed to last for the day & are unlikely to flake (falling under the eye)when applying.  They also contain more pigment so U use less.

The Highlighter : Begin with your lightest shade & apply with a soft round brush.  Apply the highlight just under the eyebrow along the brow bone, starting from the middle working outwards to the end of brow line.  Always blend the eye shadow with your brush or finger so there are no harsh lines.
A small amount of highlighter can also be applied to the inner & middle of the eyelid area to open your eyes.  If the area between your lid & brow is small U can blend the highlight across the whole eyelid to create the illusion of space.

Mid Tone/Shade : This is the in between shade that marries the highlight & the deeper eye shadow, it can be used just above the crease of your eye to add colour.  Be careful to blend well, it’s the difference between a professional look & a not so professional look.

Deeper Shade : This should go along the crease of your eye starting from the outer edge of the lashes blending inwards to open the eye. To create the illusion of ‘awake eyes’ place the dark eye shadow on the outer edge of top lashes & blend upwards to the crease.  Be sure to soften this by blending along the crease line.  If your eye area is narrow use a small amount of this shade along the lash line, almost like soft eyeliner or use your mid tone along the crease instead.  Avoid placing the dark shade too close to the inner corner of the eye, since this can make your eyes look bruised & tired.

Star Tip : To create the ‘cat eye look’, use a little of the mid or deep shade on the outer corner of the bottom lash line, making sure it’s applied softly with a small angled brush.

Mascara is a MUST for all ladies; this really opens up the eyes & accentuates your whole face.
The top lashes are the most important; apply a second coat to outside lashes for lift. We leave the bottom lashes to your own discretion.
